Terms & Conditions

1. Booking a Tour

You can book a 4x4 tour in the following ways:


2. Payment
 

  • Payment is required at the time of booking.

  • Accepted methods: PayPal or bank transfer.

  • Your booking is confirmed only once full payment and a completed booking form have been received.

  • Travel to and from the tour start point and fuel used during the tour are your responsibility and are not included in the cost.


3. Cancellations by You
 

  • All cancellations must be submitted in writing to: thelanerangeruk@outlook.com or posted to: 39 Usk Road, Pontypool, NP4 8AG.

  • Cancellations made:

    • Up to 8 weeks before the tour: full refund

    • Less than 8 weeks before the tour: no refund


4. Cancellations or Changes by The Lane Ranger UK

  • Minor route changes may occur due to weather, road closures, or erosion. These will not affect the overall quality of the tour.

  • If a tour must be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, an alternative date or route will be offered. If unsuitable, a full refund will be provided.
     

5. Risks and Safety
 

  • By booking a tour, you accept the inherent risks of off-road driving.

  • Although routes are checked in advance, changing conditions (weather, fallen trees, etc.) may impact the tour.

  • You must follow the guide’s instructions at all times to ensure safety.

  • Seatbelts must be worn unless medically exempt.

  • Some foliage contact or minor terrain impacts (e.g., rocks) may occur depending on your selected tour.

  • Drivers are responsible for all passengers under 16.

  • Alcohol and illegal drugs are strictly prohibited and will result in removal from the tour.

  • Open fires and disposable barbecues are only allowed in designated areas.
     

6. Breakdowns and Punctures
 

  • Off-road recovery companies will not operate on unsurfaced byways. Every effort will be made to assist in reaching a public road.

  • You must carry a road-legal, inflated spare tyre. If you suffer a puncture and only have one spare, you may be asked to leave the tour once safely back on tarmac.
     

7. Tour Etiquette and Responsibilities
 

  • Tours are driven in convoy; full briefing will be given at the start.

  • Dogs are welcome but must be under control.

  • You agree to being photographed or filmed during the tour; media may be used on social platforms.

  • We strictly follow the Green Lane Association Code of Conduct and Countryside Code.

  • Only legal rights of way are used—no off-route driving allowed.

  • Drive carefully and respectfully. All closed gates must be left closed after passing through.
     

8. Tour Leader & Equipment
 

  • Your guide is certified by Mountain Rescue England and Wales and City & Guilds in off-road driving.

  • Holds valid First Aid, First Responder, and DBS certification.

  • PMR radios are issued to all drivers and must be returned after the tour.

  • The lead vehicle carries a winch, recovery gear, first aid kit, air compressor, and hand tools.
